Iran’s Army Chief, Major General Amir Hatami, has asserted that the country’s armed forces will never permit even a single inch of Iranian territory to be relinquished.
On Friday, Hatami visited the Shahid Lashkari Airbase in Tehran. Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, the deputy chief of the Iranian Army for Coordination, and Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi, the Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF), evaluated the base’s combat readiness together.
“During the eight years of the Sacred Defense, we demonstrated that we will never permit even an inch of Iran’s land to be separated,” Hatami stated, referring to the Iran–Iraq War of the 1980s, according to Press TV.
He reaffirmed the Army’s duty to safeguard the country’s sovereignty, stating that the armed forces are committed to protecting the Islamic establishment, as well as preserving Iran’s territorial integrity and independence.
Hatami emphasized that the Iranian Army will continue to carry out its mission with full strength and resolve.
The visit comes as the Israeli regime launched a wave of strikes on Iran’s military and civilian infrastructure on June 13 that claimed hundreds of lives, including women and children, as well as a dozen top military brass.
In response, the Iranian armed forces launched a powerful retaliatory campaign, Operation True Promise III, against the Israeli regime by targeting key military, intelligence, industrial, energy, and R&D facilities across the occupied territories.
The United States, which had been in talks with Tehran about its peaceful nuclear program since April, joined the war on June 22 by targeting several key nuclear sites. Iran struck a major US military base in Qatar in retaliation.
New satellite imagery has revealed significant damage to Al Udeid US airbase in Qatar, debunking claims by US President Donald Trump that the largest American military base in the West Asia region had been left unharmed.
The images showed that a geodesic dome — known as a Radome — housing key secure communications equipment used by American forces was present on the base just hours before the Iranian attack but was no longer visible in subsequent images.
The Israeli regime was forced on June 24 to declare a unilateral halt to its aggression, which was announced on its behalf by the US president.
