Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani has said that the US government is not qualified to speak about human rights in other countries.
Kanaani termed the recent US Department of State’s annual report on the situation of human rights in Iran as baseless, politically motivated, and derived from the US regime’s interventionist approach to the internal affairs of independent states in the world.
The annual report of the US Department of State on human rights in Iran is baseless and has no validity concerning human rights in international ties, he said, adding that the US government is not qualified to speak out on human rights in other countries.
He underlined that the behavior of the US police in imposing violence over individuals and the illegal use of force as well as structural and targeted discrimination over black people, violations of the rights of minorities, racial behaviors, the suppression of protesters, the violence on refugee, and the inhumane treatment on them and their children, violations of human rights and racial discrimination in prisons, especially in prisons in the southern states of the country are the only some cases of continued human rights abuses inside the United States.
