The General Command of the Syrian Army said that the Israeli enemy attacked on Saturday a Syrian military position in Quneitra province.

In a statement, the General Command said the Israeli aggression came after Syrian army units thwarted a wide-scale attack by Nusra Front terrorists on the surroundings of al-Baath city in Quneitra countryside.

The aggression is a “desperate attempt” by the Israeli enemy to support terrorist groups, especially that the Syrian army has inflicted heavy losses upon Nusra Front insurgents during their attack, according to the Syrian army General Command statement.

The General Command warned against the risks posed by such hostile acts and holds the Israeli enemy responsible for the serious repercussions if such acts reoccur under any pretext, SANA news agency reported.

Meanwhile, it affirmed the Syrian army’s determination to crush terrorist groups, noting that these groups are the Israeli enemy’s proxy in the region.
