Foreign and Expatriates Ministry condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression on Syrian territory, which has witnessed a dangerous escalation in the village of Kuwaya in the western Daraa countryside, as the village has been subjected to intense artillery and air bombardment targeting residential neighborhoods and farms, claiming the lives of six civilians.
“That escalation comes in the context of a series of violations that began with the infiltration of the Israeli forces into Quneitra and Daraa provinces, as part of an ongoing aggression against Syrian territory, in flagrant violation of national sovereignty and international law,” the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday in a press statement.
“We affirm our absolute rejection of those crimes and call for an international investigation into the crimes committed against innocent people,” the statement added.
It said “We also call on the Syrian people to adhere to their land and reject any attempts at displacement or the imposition of a new status quo by force, and stress that these attacks will not deter Syrians from defending their rights and their land.”
In a series of attacks, Israeli occupation forces carried out airstrikes in southern and central Syria, leaving at least seven people dead, according to Syrian state media.
