Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri hailed the Islamic Republic’s patience in face of US pressures, saying the failure of the policy of maximum pressure on Iran would force the next US administration to shift its policies.
In comments at the opening of a construction project in Tehran on Saturday morning, Jahangiri said the Iranian nation is repeating the benefit of its patience and fortitude under the US pressures.
“The Americans launched an economic war against us in the true sense of the word,” he said, saying the outgoing US president made every attempt with the Israeli and Saudi support to prevent Iran’s progress, but failed to do so.
“The failure of the policy of maximum pressure on Iran would force the next US administration to shift its policies, the Iranian VP stressed, as quoted by Tasnim news agency.
He noted that Iran’s revenues in the coming months will increase as the pressures will ease off.
Jahangiri also said the US president “was dishonored after the scandal of fatal riots” at the US Congress on Wednesday.
