Lebanese caretaker Health Minister Hamad Hasan said on Friday that the country is heading towards safety in the battle against coronavirus.
“We are heading to safety and endeavoring to raise readiness. Most importantly, there shall be no blunders, as we are following a plan that integrates with the private sector,” the minister was quoted as saying by National news agency.
His remarks were at the inauguration of the new Coronavirus section at Hariri University Hospital.
Hasan warned, meanwhile, that the was no time for mere theories but rather for action.
“Nurses in governmental hospitals must attain their rights,” he added, stressing the need for an independent health sector.
“We cannot mortgage the health of citizens to the mood of some hospital institutions.”
Lebanon has been on full lockdown since November 14, over a high surge in coronavirus cases. Hasan highlighted importance of the lockdown in raising the readiness of hospitals across country to confront the deadly disease.
