Lebanon registered on Wednesday 1,106 new coronavirus cases and ten related deaths, Ministry of Public Health announced.
1,088 new infections were recorded among local residents, while the other 18 cases were imported, the ministry said in its daily report, putting the total infections nationwide since February 2020 to 655,174.
Ten new fatalities were registered over the past 24 hours, raising the nationwide death toll to 8,606, the ministry stated.
The ministry added that 15,807 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
385 coronavirus patients have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours, including 181 at the ICU rooms, 38 of whom are on ventilators, the report added.
Lebanon, as in many countries across the world, has been witnessing a spike in the coronavirus cases and fatalities.
