Syrian army carried out raids on Tuesday against militants east of the city of Aleppo for the first in nearly a month, a monitor group reported.
Head of the opposition UK-based Syrian Observatory Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP that the Syrian forces “carried out raids for the first time since October 18,” the date of suspension of Moscow’s air strikes on militants east of Aleppo.
The strikes coincided with the announcement of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu about resuming the bombing using Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier in the “armed operations” in Syria “for the first time in the history of the Russian fleet.”
The observatory also said that the southern regions of Aleppo and other areas in the west countryside of the province on Tuesday morning were suffering “from the bombing of the winged missiles fired from Russian warships.”
