Hamas and Islamic Jihad Palestinian resistance movements late Monday, dismissed as baseless Israeli claims on reaching a deal of six-month ceasefire in Gaza.
Hamas’ spokesman Fawzi Barhoum stressed that the ceasefire which ended the latest confrontation between the Zionist forces and the resistance was in exchange of Israeli commitment to abide by previous understandings.
Meanwhile, Islamic Jihad official Daoud Shehab commented on the Israeli allegations by saying: “What was circulated on six-month ceasefire is baseless.”
“What happened in Gaza is a ceasefire (by resistance) in exchange for halting the (Israeli) aggression and implementation of understandings on breaking the blockade.”
Israeli media earlier on Monday, reported that the Zionist entity and Palestinian resistance have reached a deal, mediated by Egypt, on a six-month ceasefire in Gaza.
According to the alleged deal, the resistance will keep the Friday protests 300 meters away from the border fence in Gaza, halt night protests at the border between Gaza and the occupied territories and the maritime protests.
For its part, the Zionist entity will expand Gaza fishing zone 15 miles, implement international initiatives on the strip, secure delivery of aids and medical assistance, negotiate on issues of electricity and crossings as well as issues related to health conditions and funds, the Israeli report on Channel 12 claimed.
