Oman is gearing up to host the sixth round of indirect nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran this Sunday, October 15. Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi confirmed the meeting via a post on X, stating, “I am pleased to confirm the 6th round of Iran US talks will be held in Muscat this Sunday.”

The upcoming discussions follow five previous rounds that began in April, aiming to establish a new nuclear agreement to succeed the 2015 accord, from which the Trump administration withdrew in 2018.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, had previously indicated that preparations for this round were already underway, highlighting the urgency of the situation.

Meanwhile, Iran will present a counter‑proposal to the latest US offer, a proposal it has previously deemed “unacceptable”. Tehran says any agreement must guarantee economic relief while preserving its sovereign right to uranium enrichment.
