In a dramatic hours-long confrontation, the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) engaged in a military operation targeting the United States Navy Carrier Strike Group 8 in the Red Sea, officials reported on Wednesday.
The operation began on Tuesday, marking the 10th anniversary of the Yemeni people’s resistance against the Saudi-led aggression, and continued into the early hours of the following day. Brigadier General Yahya Saree stated that various YAF branches targeted US Navy vessels, including the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, which has served as a launching pad for aerial assaults on Yemen.

“Clashes with American forces were ongoing until the statement’s release at 4:40 am (local time),” Saree said, emphasizing that the Yemeni forces are responding responsibly to evolving battlefield developments.
Meanwhile, the Yemen News Agency (SABA) reported that US aircraft launched at least 17 strikes targeting the Saada governorate in northern Yemen.
In a separate development, Saree revealed that the YAF’s Unmanned Air Force had launched multiple long-range one-way attack drones at Israeli targets in occupied Palestine earlier, following previous Yemeni missile attacks against the Israeli occupation. This comes in the context of the YAF’s ongoing support for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
