The Israeli media covered up the issue of the northern settlements few days before the government decision to return the displaced settlers takes effect, highlighting the large-scale case of confusion and fear.
Around 100 thousand settlers were evacuated from the North when Hezbollah started its border battle against the Zionist enemy in support of Gaza on October 8, 2023.
March 1 is the set date for the return of the settlers who cast doubts on the government intention to rebuild the houses and infrastructure facilities in the northern settlements which lie zero to five kilometers away from Lebanon borders.
The Zionist failure to eradicate Hezbollah threat during the all-out war on Lebanon exacerbated the situation of the northern settlements which witnessed a massive destruction caused by Hezbollah missiles.
Talia Corland, a settler from Al-Manara settlement, said: “I lost my house, and darkness prevails at night in Al-Manara. We are not sure if the government would help in the reconstruction of the many destroyed buildings.”
Kiryat Shmona settler, Shern Ohaion, said that the Israeli government obliged her to return to the settlement despite her rejection and concerns about the future of her children in the area.
Avichai stern, Kiryat Shmona mayor, said that the Israeli government is trying to return the settlers at any expense, wondering what would happen when the Zionist troops complete their withdrawal from Lebanon.
The Israeli media indicated that discussions run by various circles in the Zionist entity estimated that Hezbollah would not give an open-ended chance for the Lebanese government to seek diplomatically the Israeli withdrawal.
i24 Channel mentioned that Hezbollah would try to target the five Israeli occupation posts in South Lebanon and that no one know when that would happen.
The Zionist media affirmed that the US administration has approved the Israeli occupation of the five posts in South Lebanon, adding that the Americans have granted ‘Israel’ the permission to strike any target inside Lebanon.
It is worth noting that the Zionist enemy completed its withdrawal from South Lebanon on February 18, 2025, keeping five occupation positions in Mount Jal Al-Deir (Aitaroun), Al-Hamames Hill (Al-Khiam), Mount Blat (between Ramyah and Marwaheen), Houla-Markaba Main Road, and Al-Labbouneh Hill (Outskirts of Naqoura and Alma Al-Shaab).
