Member of Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc, Dr. Hasan Fadlallah, called on the Lebanese Army Command to hold the soldiers who attacked the peaceful sit-in on Airport Road accountable. adding that the surprising assault on the women and children involves the military in a direct confrontation with its people.
In a statement issued on Saturday, MP Fadlallah condemned the attack, warning against turning the Army into an oppression tool that will fall in face of the people’s will and national consensus.

“It was necessary for the Higher Defense Council and the government to hold immediate meetings to study the steps that must be taken to prevent the Israeli enemy from imposing its dictates on the airport and continuing its occupation of Lebanese territory.”
Hezbollah lawmaker urged the council to take a national decision to send the army’s elite forces to the borders to maintain the state’s authority in the face of the Israeli enemy that occupies the land and violates sovereignty, instead of carrying out political and media mobilization, issuing statements, threatening citizens with security measures that cannot frighten those who have the right, and trying to use force against a peaceful sit-in on the airport road.”
MP Fadlallah pointed out that “this authority knows well that who called for the sit-in is one of the keenest parties on stability and civil peace, even more so than some of the authority components.
Member of Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc, Melhem Al-Ho1ujairi, denounced the attack on the peaceful protest, stressing that it aims at intimidating the Resistance supporters.
Moreover, a number of national parties, including Al-Baath, issued consecutive statements which denounced the attack on the peaceful protest on Airport road, underlining the importance of protecting the freedom expression and warning against targeting destabilizing Lebanon’s security.
Upon Hezbollah call, huge crowds gathered Saturday on Old Beirut Airport road to protest against the the aviation authorities’ decision to prevent the Iranian plane Mahan, carrying Lebanese passengers, from landing at Rafik Hariri Airport after a threat issued by the Israeli enemy to target he flight. Lebanese security forces fired tear bombs at the peaceful protest, suffocating a number of participants.
