The Palestinian Resistance conducted a wave of operations aimed at opposing the invading Israeli occupation forces, escalating tensions on Friday.
An array of Resistance factions, notably including Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s al-Quds Brigades, collectively engaged in defensive actions against the occupation forces. Among these operations, the al-Quds Brigades made headlines by successfully targeting an Israeli helicopter with a NATO-designated SA-18 surface-to-air missile, igniting a confrontational episode in eastern Rafah, the southernmost city of the Gaza Strip.

Additional offensives ensued as the al-Quds Brigades mortar units unleashed an onslaught targeting Israeli occupation forces in the Netsarim Axis, an area presently under occupation by Israeli forces. The barrage expanded to include large-caliber shells fired as a response to the incursion of Israeli forces into Rafah. Seizing the moment, al-Quds Brigades dramatically launched a salvo of rockets towards Kibbutz Be’eri, situated east of Gaza City.
Another notable display of resistance came from the al-Mujahideen Brigades, who shelled the Kissufim military site to the east of the central Gaza Strip, further contributing to the intensifying conflict.
Meanwhile, amidst the escalating resistance, the Israeli occupation forces intensified their bombing campaign against the Gaza Strip, prompting a swift response from the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS). The PRCS reported a harrowing toll, with an Israeli airstrike on refugee tents in the Mawasi area of Rafah resulting in 22 casualties and 50 injuries.
In the wake of this devastating turn of events, the PRCS conveyed the grim reality, stating, “Our teams have so far dealt with 18 martyrs and 35 injuries due to the occupation’s targeting of displaced people’s tents in Mawasi Rafah, west of the governorate.”
