A fourth German local authority said Monday it had cancelled a public appearance by a Turkish minister to campaign ahead of a referendum on expanding President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s powers.

Police in the city of Hamburg said a venue where Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu had planned to speak Tuesday could not be used “after serious fire safety deficiencies were identified and the use of the property was immediately prohibited”.
