The Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip have embarked on yet another day of relentless airstrikes, artillery shelling, and fire belts, perpetrating horrifying acts of violence against innocent civilians. The Palestinian Information Center confirmed that this marks the 116th consecutive day of the genocide inflicted upon the region, resulting in numerous bloody massacres and a staggering number of casualties.

The aggression, which has caused the displacement of over 90% of the population, has led to a catastrophic humanitarian situation exacerbated by an ongoing siege. The occupation aircraft and artillery spared no corner of the Gaza Strip, relentlessly bombarding various areas. Khan Yunis, in particular, bore the brunt of the aggression as homes, displaced persons’ gatherings, and streets were targeted, leaving countless martyrs and a high number of wounded victims.

One of the most shocking incidents of the day was the bombing of Al-Farouq Mosque in Khan Yunis camp, a site that holds great religious and cultural significance for the Palestinian people. Moreover, the artillery strikes on Al-Madrasa Street in the Al-Amal neighborhood resulted in the complete or partial destruction of numerous homes, further exacerbating the dire living conditions.

To make matters worse, the occupation forces obstructed the movement of ambulances belonging to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and continued shelling in proximity to their main headquarters in Khan Yunis. This deliberate targeting of medical facilities demonstrates a disturbing disregard for international humanitarian laws.

Amidst intensified artillery shelling, severe clashes erupted in the Al-Amal neighborhood and the Batn al-Sameen area, west and south of Khan Yunis, respectively. Barrage of lighting bombs and heavy gunfire further added to the chaos and fear gripping these communities.

The international community has remained largely silent regarding the ongoing genocide, failing to take meaningful action to protect the lives and dignity of the Palestinian people. As the conflict reaches its 116th day, it is imperative for world leaders to step up and address this dire situation, putting an end to the Zionist occupation forces’ ruthless campaign of violence.
