Chaos erupted at Makhachkala Airport in Dagestan, a republic within the Russian Federation, as demonstrators stormed the premises following the arrival of a plane carrying individuals from an enemy entity – Israel.
According to reports from Agence France-Presse, the authorities swiftly responded to the situation by closing the airport to air traffic. The Muslim-majority capital of Dagestan was thrown into disarray as dozens of protesters breached the airport grounds, driven by the news of an incoming flight from Tel Aviv.
Flight Radar, a renowned air traffic monitoring website, confirmed that the Russian Airline Red Wings operated the flight, which touched down at Makhachkala Airport at approximately 7 PM local time.
Eyewitnesses told Sota, an independent Russian news outlet, that the demonstrators were vehemently condemning the Israeli Aggression in the Gaza Strip.
The protesters managed to breach the passenger building and proceeded towards the airport runway. The situation quickly escalated, raising concerns for the safety and security of all those present.
