In a recent interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stated that a preemptive strike against ‘Israel’ is still a possibility in the coming hours. The statement comes after Abdollahian held meetings with top regional and international officials.
According to IRNA reports, Abdollahian emphasized the urgency of stopping Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, saying that “Israel is running out of time” and that Prime Minister Netanyahu “must be stopped.” He also highlighted the growing capabilities of the Axis of Resistance, referring to the group of countries, including Lebanon, Iran and Syria, that have been resisting Israeli aggression for decades.
The Iranian diplomat pointed out that if political solutions fail to materialize, further actions against ‘Israel’ would be inevitable.
Abdollahian told IRNA that “there is a consensus among Resistance leaders” in regard to taking action against ‘Israel’ if it continues to commit crimes against civilians.
Abdollahian also drew attention to the alarming number of casualties in the ongoing conflict, which has claimed the lives of hundreds of children. The minister compared the ten-day-long Israeli aggression on Gaza to the 20-month-long conflict in Ukraine, underscoring the difference in the number of children killed- 740 in Gaza and 593 in Ukraine.
