Early this morning, Israeli occupation forces launched a massive arrest campaign across various areas of Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank. In the town of Beit Daqu, northwest of the city of Jerusalem, four young men were arrested following confrontations with the occupation forces. The arrested men were identified as Abdel Muti Qutaiba Rayan, Saeed Mustafa Daoud, Musa Muhammad Hassan, and Asim Habis Rayan.
At the same time, Israeli occupation aircraft carried out a series of raids on resistance observation points in Rafah, Gaza, and Jabalia. Citizens were injured by live bullets, tear gas bombs and suffocation in response to peaceful demonstrations against the ongoing blockade of Gaza and the occupation’s crimes against the Palestinian people.
Meanwhile, for the eleventh day running, peaceful marches continue in the eastern Gaza Strip in protest against the occupation’s actions against the Palestinian people. However, the Israeli occupation authorities have decided to keep the Beit Hanoun “Erez” checkpoint with the Gaza Strip closed, preventing Palestinian workers from entering the occupied territories.
The arrest campaign, raids, and checkpoint closure are just the latest examples of the Israeli occupation’s continued violation of Palestinian rights and disregard for international law.
