Known with his nom du guerre “Abu Mohammad”, martyr Ghali was renowned for his military secrecy and lack of public appearance.
His brother, Mohammad, has been detained in Israeli jails since 2002, after being sentenced to 25 years in prison on the guise of engaging in commando operations.
As for his outstanding military tasks, martyr Ghali had a major role in establishing the Al-Quds Brigades’ rocket unit, and participated in numerous rocket strikes since 2002. He supervised the training of resistance fighters on equipping rocket launchers.
In 2012, he oversaw the setting up and launching operations of “Fajr 5” rockets. In other words, the late commander was considered one of the brilliant and creative minds in the technical field and was proficient in manufacturing ground and portable rocket launchers. Earlier in 2012, he held the position of Deputy Head of the Rocket Force in the Al-Quds Brigades.
martyr Ghali was a dear and close companion to Commander Khaled Mansour, “Abu Ragheb”, who was assassinated by Israeli occupation in August 2022.
In 2019, Ghali took over command of the rocket force, succeeding martyr Mansour, and was appointed to the Al-Quds Brigades’ Military Council.
Martyr Ghali had survived many assassination attempts, the most prominent of which was in Seif Al-Quds (Sword of Al-Quds) in May 2021, where he was seriously wounded.
At dawn on Thursday, May 11, 2023, he was martyred in a cowardly Israeli assassination amid the ongoing battle, Operation Avenging the Free.
