Violent confrontations erupted between the Israeli occupation forces and Palestinians on Friday evening in the town of Al-Isawiya, occupied Al-Quds, following the martyrdom of a freed prisoner in the town earlier on Thursday.
Local sources said that the occupation forces stormed the town of Al-Isawiya and deployed in its streets. The IOF fired rubber bullets and grenades to disperse the Palestinian who defended the town by throwing stones, fireworks, and Molotov cocktails toward the occupation forces. Palestinians also resorted to burning the occupation flag in a symbolic move to express their commitment to liberation.
Furthermore, sources reported that the occupation forces arrested two Palestinians, both from the Dari family, in front of their homes in the center of the town. While several young men were wounded with rubber bullets in their lower and upper limbs and were given first aid.
Last Thursday, the liberated prisoner Mohammed Samir Obeid, 20 years old, was martyred after the occupation forces shot him in Al-Isawiya.
The occupation forces fired live bullets at that time during confrontations which led to the martyrdom of the liberated prisoner and the injury of four others. Injuries resulting from the confrontations were described as moderate to minor.
Confrontations erupted between the Palestinians and the Israeli occupation forces after hundreds of citizens organized a vigil against the daily incursions of the occupation into the city.
