Iranian President Hasan Rouhani on Monday praised Iran’s recent achievements especially the implementation of the nuclear deal and the country’s influential role in recent OPEC talks.
“Iranian experts, workers and engineers in the country’s oil industry, have managed, just within ten months since the nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action took effect, to boost oil production from 1,300,000 to 2,300,000 barrels a day,” President Rouhani said in a ceremony held on the occasion of the harvest thanksgiving day.
“This shows our power, and when we have power we are invited to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and take the lead to bargain for a decrease of oil production by the OPEC member states to improve global oil prices,” he said.
The implementation of the JCPOA was not Iran’s sheer achievement, yet it was a day of grief for Israel and a country in the region which is unfortunately following a wrong path, he said, according to IRNA news agency.
“What the Islamic Republic did at the OPEC was again amounted to a great international achievement for the country,” the Iranian president said.
“And we did a great job in other spheres, too; we were able to enter a deal to buy civilian aircraft as we did quite well in boosting the country’s agricultural productions,” Rouhani added.
“The resisting and hopeful people of Iran are capable of removing all the barriers by relying on God and their solidarity,” he said.
