Yemeni revolutionary forces launched late Thursday missile and drone strikes against several targets across Saudi Arabia in retaliation to continued Saudi-led aggression on the Arab impoverished country.
Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said an operation dubbed “National Day of Resilience” was carried out against Saudi targets using 18 drones and 8 ballistic missiles.
Saudi Aramco facilities in Ras Tanura, Rabigh, Yanbu, and Jizan and King Abdulaziz base in Dammam were targeted with 12 Sammad-3 drones and 8 Zulfiqar, Badr, and Sa’ir ballistic missiles, the spoksemn said.
Other military sites in Najran and Asir were also targeted with 6 Qasef-2K drones, he said, adding that the National Day of Resilience Operation successfully achieved its goals.
Saree further warned the Saudi-led coalition of the consequences of the continuing aggression and blockade on Yemen.
“We affirm our readiness to carry out more severe, harsh military operations,” Al-Masirah quoted him as saying.
Yemeni revolutionaries have been in the latest weeks stepping up attacks against Saudi military targets in retaliation for the nearly 6-year aggression.
Yemen has been since March 25, 2015 under aggression by the Saudi-led coalition in a bid to restore power to fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, who is Riyadh’s ally. Tens of thousands of Yemenis have been killed or injured by Saudi-led airstrikes.
The Arab country has been also under harsh blockade b the coalition which includes in addition to the Kingdom, the UAE, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Morocco and Sudan.
