Lebanon registered on Saturday 3,158 new coronavirus cases and 42 related deaths, Ministry of Public Health announced.
In its daily report, the ministry said all the new infections were recorded among local residents, announcing that there were no imported cases registered during the last 24 hours.
42 new fatalities were registered over the past 24 hours, raising the nationwide death toll to 5,013, the ministry stated.
21,099 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, including 2,581 at Beirut International Airport, according to the report.
2,197 coronavirus patients have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours, including 903 at the ICU rooms with 285 of them are on ventilators, the report added.
The ministry noted that the positivity rate reached 17.5%, adding that the number of active cases is 39,840.
