Lebanon registered on Sunday 3,010 new coronavirus cases and 50 related deaths, Ministry of Public Health announced.
In its daily report, the ministry said 2,994 new infections were recorded among local residents, while the other 16 cases were imported, raising the total infections nationwide since February to 279,597.
50 new fatalities were registered over the past 24 hours, raising the nationwide death toll to 2,340, the ministry stated.
15,014 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, including 897 at Beirut International Airport, according to the report.
2,368 coronavirus patients have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours, including 913 at the ICU rooms with 295 of them are on ventilators, the report added.
Lebanon has been since January 14 witnessing a full lockdown with all-day curfew over spike in both infections and deaths. Last Thursday, the government extended the restrictions by two weeks until February 8.
