Lebanon has shattered on Thursday its single-day record of new coronavirus infections, with 3,507 cases recorded by the Ministry of Public Health.
In its daily report, the ministry said that 3,497 new infections were recorded among local residents, while the other 10 cases were imported, raising the total infections nationwide since February to 181,503.
23,848 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, including 1,503 at Beirut International Airport, according to the report.
12 new fatalities were registered over the past 24 hours, raising the nationwide death toll to 1,455, the ministry added.
1,133 coronavirus patients have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours, including 458 at the ICU rooms with 138 of them are on ventilators, the report added.
