Lebanese caretaker Health Minister Hamad Hasan said on Wednesday that three passengers on a flight coming from London tested positive for coronavirus.
In a tweet, the minister that the ministry will conduct tests aimed at specifying the detailed description of the virus detected in the infected people.
Meanwhile, he called on all “concerned families and municipalities to take and implement serious preventive measures with all arrivals coming from the UK.”
The announcement comes as the UK witnesses a new COVID strain, with several countries suspending flights from the European country.
Minister Hasan earlier on Monday, recommended the suspension of flights between Lebanon and UK following a meeting for the scientific committee which follows up on the coronavirus pandemic.
The minister also announced that new measures would be taken with passengers coming from the UK.
