Israeli occupation army detained a young man during a raid on a village in the countryside of Daraa in southern Syria, as they conduct a fresh incursion in Quneitra Countryside, Syrian state television Al-Ikhbariya reported early on Sunday.

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) raided the village of Maariya, which they have occupied, Al Ekhbariya reported.

The IOF detained a young man during the raid, before withdrawing and heading toward the Jazira barracks.

The media outlet reported later on Sunday that the occupation forces released the young man.

Meanwhile, Syrian media also reported an Israeli incursion in the village of Al-Samadaniya Al-Sharqiya in the Quneitra countryside.

Earlier on Friday, the occupation forces entered Syria’s southwestern Quneitra province and set up a checkpoint in the village of Ain Ziwan.

Israeli forces have repeatedly carried out ground incursions into southern Syria, setting up checkpoints, searching homes and vehicles and detaining civilians.

Following the ouster of Bashar Al-Assad’s regime on Dec. 8, 2024, Israeli occupation authorities declared the 1974 Disengagement Agreement no longer valid and occupied the buffer zone in southwestern Syria.

The new authorities in Damascus have repeatedly reaffirmed its commitment to the agreement and called for the withdrawal of occupation forces from Syrian territory they have occupied.
