Russia said on Friday it will not attempt to make any contacts or negotiate with terrorist groups of ISIL and Nusra Front.
Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov said Moscow will not contact or negotiate with ISIL or Nusra, even if they lay down their arms.
“These are terrorist groups, we shall not make any contacts with them. There will never be a discussion on the rights of terrorists, on preconditions. Russia will not negotiate with them,” Syromolotov told RIA Novosti.
Both ISIL and Nusra Front, which renamed itself “Jabhat Fatah al-Sham” this summer, are banned in Russia.
