A Syrian military source confirmed a US aggression took place against a Syrian army position in Tanf, stressing that such attack proves once again Washington’s support for terrorism.
SANA news agency quoted a military source as saying that the US-led coalition launching a bombing campaign, allegedly against ISIL, in Syria “carried out at 17:40 on Tuesday an attack on a Syrian Arab Army position on al-Tanf road in al-Shahima area in the eastern countryside of Homs province.”
The source said that the attack “claimed a number of lives and caused material damage.”
SANA cited a statement by the military source, who said: “This aggression confirms once again that the coalition’s support for terrorism at a time when the Syrian Arab Army and its allies make daily progress in fighting ISIS terrorist organization.”
The source said that the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces “warn against the risks of this escalations and its ramifications, calling on this so-called international coalition to not carry out such aggressive actions under any pretext.”
Earlier, the Pentagon said the coalition “destroyed” a unit of pro-government forces in Syria as they advanced near an area where coalition commandos have been training and advising militants.
Meanwhile in the statement, the Syrian military source affirmed that the Syrian army and its allies are determined to continue fighting terrorist organizations, primarily ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra, and pursue them across Syrian territory.
