Iran engages in the confrontation against ‘Israel’ on basis of “long-game strategy” and is well aware of the deception practiced by the United States, Lebanese expert told Al-Manar.
In an interview on Tuesday, Director of Al-Khanadeq News Website Mohammad Shamas said that the recent negotiations that preceded the Israeli aggression on Iran “were nothing more than a US attempt to buy time on the international level, in preparation for launching an aggression against the Islamic Republic.”
He pointed out that Tehran entered these negotiations despite its certainty of their futility.
“It acted with calculated restraint offering no justification for any potential act of aggression by its enemies.”
Shamas, an expert in the Iranian affairs, explained that the Iranian leadership, headed by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, has been fully aware of a plan simultaneous with the negotiations aimed at limiting Iran’s role in the region over its support for the Palestinian cause.
The US’s main demand is that they don’t want Iran to even have a nuclear industry. They want you to be reliant on them for radiopharmaceuticals, energy, desalination equipment, and in tens of other critical sectors.

“Despite this, Iran refrained from launching a preemptive attack, out of concern for regional stability and avoiding a devastating, large-scale war,” he added.
Shamas pointed out that US policy, even in diplomacy, is based on deception.
“However, Iran did not fall into this trap. It was prepared for all scenarios, from negotiation to military confrontation.”
He affirmed, meanwhile, that the Islamic Republic is now at its highest level of readiness, including its preparedness for any direct intervention by the US, especially in light of the escalating remarks by US President Donald Trump.

The expert stated that the Iranian people rally behind the political and military leadership in Tehran.
“Such popular solidarity is the fundamental pillar of this confrontation. “
Shamas asserted that the Israeli attempts to undermine this cohesion have failed, including targeting Iranian official media.
