The Israeli regime went ahead with its assault on Iran, with Zionist warplanes and drones bombarding the capital, Tehran, along with other cities across the Islamic Republic.
The Iranian Ministry of Health announced on Monday that 224 people were martyred and more than 1,200 others injured as a result of the Israeli aggression over the past three days.
Iran’s Health Ministry spokesman Hossein Kermanpour said that high number of civilians were among the casualties.
“This is the painful result of the false slogan that ‘Israel’ does not target the Iranian people, and that its objectives are only military,” the spokesman said.

The Israeli army launched on Monday airstrikes on the headquarters of the Quds Force and the Iranian army in the capital, Tehran.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the martyrdom of two of its forces following an Israeli attack on the Ijrud area in Zanjan Province, northwest of the country.
Meanwhile, Fars News Agency reported that the Iranian air defenses shot down an Israeli drone in the border city of Dehloran in Ilam Province, western Iran.
Elsewhere in the western city of Kermanshah, four explosions occurred due to an Israeli attack on the city, according to Fars News Agency.
Mehr News Agency also reported that the Iranian air defenses in Isfahan, in central Iran, intercepted hostile projectiles at dawn today near the Natanz nuclear facility.
Statements Justifying Israeli Aggression ‘Hypocritical’
For its part, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei has reminded UN member states of their responsibility to deal with the Israeli aggression, warning that the two-sided statements justifying attacks on a country are “nothing but hypocrisy.”
In a weekly briefing on Monday, Baqaei called on countries to act if “they really believe in the principles enshrined in the UN Charter as well as the rule of law and collective security.”
He said that Iran will continue defending itself with all its might against “the aggression of the most evil occupying regime,” adding, “Today is the fourth day of our national defense.”
Israeli aggressors targeted Farabi Hospital in Kermanshah, west of Iran. Attacking hospitals and residential areas, reportedly directed by their Defense Minister, is a grave violation of int’l law and war crime.
