Meanwhile, a Lebanese military source described the Israeli attacks as an escalation aimed at preventing the residents of the border towns from returning despite the ceasefire.
Such remarks were echoed by the Israeli army radio, which said that the Israeli shelling of the Lebanese border towns aims at driving residents away from the so-called “restricted area.”
For its part, the Lebanese Army called on residents of Taybe to leave the town following the Israeli drone strike.
In a statement, Lebanon’s national army announced it has started “to assume missions in south Lebanon, Bekaa and Beirut’s Dahiyeh (southern suburb), in parallel with boosting deployment south of Litani River.”
