In the midst of escalating tensions in the Holy Land, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi reached out to Palestinian leaders to express his country’s unwavering support for their fight for liberation.
Raisi called both the Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement Ziyad Al-Nakhalah and Secretary-General of the Hamas movement Ismail Haniyeh to discuss ongoing events at Al-Aqsa flood operation.
During the phone conversations, Raisi stated, “Iran supports the legitimate defense of the Palestinian nation,” reaffirming Tehran’s commitment to standing by Palestine and their right to liberate their land. He further stressed that those endangering the security of nations in the region, referring to the Zionist regime ‘Israel’ and its supporters, must be held accountable for their actions.
For his part, Major General Baqeri praised the Palestinian combatants for their glorious victory in the Al-Aqsa flood operation, and expressed his confidence in their ability to soon liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque from Israeli occupation.
Baqeri also applauded the Palestinian forces for a hybrid military strike that dealt a devastating blow to the Zionist regime.
The Iranian general noted the Palestinian nation’s newfound power and reliance on its young generation and Islam, and humiliated Israel’s air defense capabilities and its so-called Iron Dome system.
On the other hand, the foreign ministers of Iran and Turkey stressed the need to protect the rights of Palestinian people amid the brutal Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip following an operation that the resistance forces have carried out in the occupied territories.
In a telephone conversation on Saturday night, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan talked about the latest developments in Palestine in the wake of the Al-Aqsa flood operation, a hybrid surprise military strike that the Hamas fighters have launched against the Zionist occupiers outside the Gaza Strip.
