In a violent incident on Monday morning, Israeli occupation forces opened fire on a Palestinian man at the Mazmoria checkpoint near occupied Jerusalem.
The man was accused of attempting a stabbing attack on the forces, but his identity and charges have not been confirmed yet. The occupation police claimed that “a fighter from the MGB movement neutralized the suspect,” before later admitting that their soldier shot and killed the man.
Confrontations in Shuafat refugee camp, Jabal Mukaber
Yesterday evening, young Palestinian men and Israeli occupation forces clashed in the Shuafat refugee camp in occupied Jerusalem, resulting in no injuries. The occupation soldiers fired rubber bullets and gas bombs while the youths retaliated with firecrackers.
In a separate incident, the occupation forces incited the town of Jabal Mukaber, but no casualties were recorded. There are also reports of the forces attempting to storm the village of Zabuba, west of Jenin.
Settler incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque
In the latest episode of ongoing provocations against the Palestinians, dozens of illegal settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem today. As tensions continue to rise, hundreds of settlers and extremists, including Rabbi Yehuda Glick, visited the mosque on the second day of the Hebrew New Year. Yesterday, there were multiple attacks on worshipers at the mosque, according to reports.
