In a significant development, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, said that Iran and Oman will benefit from closer bilateral cooperation, expressing his admiration for the efforts made by the Raeisi administration in enhancing relations with regional nations.
During a meeting with Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said in Tehran, Sayyed Khamenei emphasized the mutual benefits that Iran and Oman can derive from closer bilateral cooperation.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, Ayatollah Khamenei underlined the significance of increasing cooperation between Iran and Oman, as the two nations share this crucial waterway. He called for sincere and dedicated follow-up to the ongoing negotiations between the two countries, stressing the need for tangible results.

Furthermore, Ayatollah Khamenei urged all regional countries to be mindful of the divisive policies pursued by the Zionist regime and its supporters, which aim to disrupt peace and harmony in the region. He welcomed Sultan Haitham’s statement regarding Egypt’s willingness to resume relations with Iran, expressing Iran’s openness and lack of objection to such a development.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also commended Sultan Haitham’s satisfaction with the resumption of Iran-Saudi Arabia ties, attributing these positive steps to the Raeisi government’s commendable policy of strengthening relations with neighboring and regional states.
Ayatollah Khamenei expressed hope that the Islamic Ummah (the global Muslim community) would regain its prominence through expanded cooperation among governments. He emphasized that the convergence of capacities and resources among Muslim countries would bring immense benefits to all Muslim nations and governments.
Sultan Haitham Optimistic
On his part, Sultan Haitham emphasized Oman’s commitment to expanding relations with its neighbors, particularly the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Sultan reiterated Oman’s policy of reinforcing bilateral ties based on brotherhood and shared interests, especially in trade, energy, investment, and culture.
During the talks in Tehran, both sides exchanged views on various areas of cooperation. Sultan Haitham expressed optimism that with the continuation of negotiations, bilateral relations would further expand, yielding concrete and practical results.

The visit of the Omani Sultan, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation, signifies the determination of both Iran and Oman to deepen their ties.
In a joint statement, President Ebrahim Raeisi and Sultan Haitham highlighted their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations through the establishment of joint committees, exchange of working groups, and the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding in economic, commercial, transit, investment, energy, and cultural fields.
They also stressed the importance of dialogue in the region, aiming to resolve conflicts, enhance relations between neighboring countries, and establish peace, stability, and prosperity.
