Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh told Esmail Qaani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), that the Palestinian resistance has triumphed in the last Gaza battle thanks to the unity between resistance factions.
In a letter to the Iranian commander on Monday, Haniyeh said: “Victory secured by the resistance groups, on top to of which are Al-Quds Brigades, during ‘Operation Revenge of the Free’ was based on strength and unity in both the battlefield and the politics.”
“The enemy thought that the assassination of Al-Quds Brigades commanders would deal a blow to the resistance and terrorize the Palestinian people. The occupation also assumed that the aggression would help it to get out of the internal political impasse and restore the so-called Israeli deterrence,” the Hamas chief said, stressing: “On the contrary, the outcomes of the battle widened the Israeli crisis.”
Haniyeh’s letter was in response to earlier one delivered by Gen. Qaani following the latest Israeli aggression on Gaza.
Haniyeh stressed, in this context, that Qaani’s letter echoed stance of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei towards Palestine.
“Qaani’s letter also echoed the Islamic Republic’s unwavering support to the valiant Palestinian resistance with all its factions in both Gaza and the West Bank.”
He described the Islamic Republic as “the cornerstone which the Palestinian resistance along with the Axis of Resistance rely in the major struggle with the Zionist enemy and American hegemony.”
Haniyeh expressed great gratitude for Iran’s strategic support to the Palestinian people at all levels.
