An ISIL suicide car bomb attack has killed at least 32 people and injured many others Monday in Baghdad.
The Takfiir organization took responsibility for the blast in Sadr City via its propaganda agency Amaq, claiming the assault which had killed around 40 people.
Iraqi police sources said at least 32 people were killed and more than 60 wounded when an explosives-laden vehicle went off on a square where daily laborers were waiting for jobs.
The terrorist group also claimed an attack in central Baghdad that killed at least 27 people on Saturday.
Pictures posted on social media shortly after the explosion showed a huge plume of black smoke billowing into the sky and seriously injured people being evacuated.
In northern Baghdad, a number of civilians were injured when three explosive devices were detonated.
One Iraqi was martyred and three others were injured after an IED, installed in a civilian car, exploded in eastern Baghdad.
A number of civilians were killed or injured as a booby-trapped car was detonated in Zaafaraniya area.
Al-Manar correspondent reported that the Iraqi security forces besieged two suicide bombers after an attack on a police station in Samarra and that the authorities imposed curfew in the city.
