High-ranking military commanders of Iran pledged support for the administration of President-elect Ebrahim Raisi.
Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri, the top commanders of the Army, the IRGC and the Police, Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami, and a number of other military officials held a meeting with President-elect Raisi on Tuesday.
Congratulating the cleric on his victory in the presidential election, the senior commanders expressed the Armed Forces’ readiness to help the new administration and boost the country’s defense capabilities in various fields, Tasnim news agency reported.
The president-elect, for his part, thanked the senior commanders for their support, expressing hope that the employment of the available capacities would improve the situation for the Iranian people.
Ebrahim Raisi, the incumbent Judiciary Chief of Iran, won the June 18 presidential election by a landslide.
