Hezbollah on Sunday condemned “in the strongest terms” the US strikes on Iran, lashing out at Washington as the “official sponsor of terror”.
In a statement, the Lebanese resistance party denounced the “US aggression on the peaceful nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran”, as “barbaric and treacherous.”
It stated that the attack “reveals the true face of the US as the greatest threat to regional and international security and stability.
“The aggression constitutes a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions, and the United Nations Charter, which prohibits targeting nuclear facilities and the use of force against a sovereign state. It is a reckless, dangerous, and uncalculated escalation that threatens to expand the war and push the region and the world towards the unknown if it is not stopped and deterrent measures are not taken.”
Hezbollah blasted US President Donald Trump, stressing that the attack proves full complicity in the Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic.
“The blatant deception practiced by US President Donald Trump, driven by illusions of control and superiority, along with this madness of attacking a sovereign state and bombing its peaceful nuclear facilities – subject to the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency- confirms that the US and the tyrants of global arrogance, only want to subjugate free and independent countries and to place them before two options: Either submission and humiliation or murder and destruction.”
It affirmed that this aggression confirms the full and direct partnership between the US and the Zionist entity in planning and execution, not only in the war against the Islamic Republic, but also in all the wars and crimes the region is facing, in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen.
Hezbollah, meanwhile, voiced confidence that “these attacks will not deter Iran from continuing its progress and development,” it added.
“Iran has the full right to respond and defend its land, its people, and its sovereignty. These arrogant and tyrannical powers will not be able to subjugate the Iranian people and their brave leadership. Rather, this aggression will only increase their determination to confront the aggression until victory is achieved,” Hezbollah stated.
It urged Muslim and Arab states to stand by Iran against the US-Israeli aggression, calling on international bodies, namely the UN nuclear watchdog, IAEA, to shoulder responsibility regarding the dangerous attack.
The US struck Iran’s main nuclear sites of Natanz, Isfahan and Fordow early on Sunday, prompting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to vow regrettable responses to the US aggression.
