The Lebanese ministry of public health issued on Friday its daily report in which it announced 1001 new coronavirus cases, 997 of them for locals and 4 for the arrivals, raising total to 526578.
The report added that 15630 PCR tests were conducted during the past 48 hours, adding that the number of cases of recovery from the coronavirus rose to 461122.
According to the report, 29 new coronavirus-related death cases were registered, which raised toll to 7278.
Lebanon has continued the anti-coronavirus vaccination campaign across all the provinces as the batches of vaccines are scheduled to arrive in Beirut gradually. In this context, the report noted that 299559 citizens received the first shot of the vaccine, adding that the second shot have been given to 167461 of them.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese authorities have decided a 3-day lockdown, which starts on Saturday, to prevent any increase in the coronavirus cases during the Easter vacation.
