The Caretaker Health Minister, Dr. Hamad Hasan, announced on Friday that the ministerial committee for Coronavirus, which had held a meeting at the Grand Serail, extended the total lockdown aimed at confronting the pandemic and approved a four-phase to reopen the economic sectors in the country.
“The criteria for assessing the epidemiological facts are still worrisome in light of the deaths in elderly homes. Today, the death toll in Lebanon reached a record number of 98.”
The health minister pointed out that “the plan of the National Committee for corona Vaccine has been approved,” stressing that all initiatives to secure the vaccine will be approached positively.
Dr. Hasan also noted that “the plan is progressing in government hospitals, and there will be 60 additional beds by next week.”
Caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Mohamed Fahmy, pointed out that “all sectors will gradually open in four stages, starting from February 8. Each stage will extend for two weeks. In stage I, movement will be permitted only upon permission through the platform.”
Caretaker prime minister, Hassan Diab, who chaired the meeting had earlier stated that the plan for the upcoming stage includes the vaccination plan and the enhancement capabilities to face the pandemic.
It is worth noting that Lebanon registered on Friday 3071 coronavirus cases with 98 related deaths.
