Caretaker Minister of Information, Manal Abdel Samad, confirmed during the launch of the draft media plan for the coronavirus vaccine, that “it is necessary to reach 80% community coverage.”
“There are citizen concerns scientifically related to the vaccine, and we must in this context limit false information because other concerns linked to state measures actually exist,” she said.
“Citizens are being misled, and false news about the vaccine are spreading across social media platforms. Therefore, the source of the news must always be verified and correct,” Abdel Samad stressed, noting that “vaccine can increase our immunity against Covid-19, but awareness is the media vaccine to combat the pandemic of false information.”
