Hezbollah released on Tuesday a detailed account, along with striking scenes, of an operation targeting Colonel Meir Biderman, Commander of the Israeli army’s 401st Armored Brigade, on the outskirts of Dibil in southern Lebanon on May 20, 2026.
According to the narrative, released by the group’s Military Media Department, the operation unfolded after repeated Israeli attempts to advance toward the town of Haddatha from multiple axes.
The failed Israeli attempts resulted in significant losses in personnel and equipment.
On the evening of May 19, Israeli forces launched a major assault on Haddatha involving two axes of advance and a force of 34 soldiers from the 601st Combat Engineering Battalion. Fierce clashes ensued on the town’s outskirts, with the resistance reporting the destruction of two bulldozers and four tanks, struck by drones and direct fire. The Israeli unit ultimately withdrew at dawn, with casualties reported and wounded personnel evacuated under fire.
The narrative states that the operation was under the direct supervision of Brigadier General Biderman, who monitored the engagement from a forward position in Rshaf before relocating to a newly established operations headquarters near Dibil at approximately 5:00 AM on May 20, 2026.
At 7:50 AM, Ababil drones conducted reconnaissance over the headquarters before striking the operations room after identifying senior officers inside. Biderman was wounded in the head along with two other officers.

Subsequent strikes followed throughout the morning. At 8:10 AM, wounded personnel were evacuated by vehicle to a helipad, where two were airlifted by helicopter. At 8:45 AM, another drone reportedly struck the base again, hitting an ammunition truck and triggering explosions and fire.
At 9:00 AM, as forces prepared to withdraw, an additional drone strike targeted a Namer armored vehicle at the base entrance, according to Hezbollah Military Media’s account.
Dramatic Footage
The video, released by Hezbollah Military Media, opens with a prior interview of Brig. Gen. Biderman, in which he claimed that Hezbollah’s fire capabilities had weakened and were no longer what they once were.
It then cuts to a 5-minute sequence showing a reconnaissance mission conducted ahead of the strike, highlighting damage previously inflicted on Israeli vehicles and equipment in earlier drone operations. Mesh netting and protective coverings are also seen deployed around buildings housing the 401st Armored Brigade’s forces.
The footage goes on to show the perspective of a suicide Ababil drone as it locks onto and dives toward its target inside the brigade headquarters.
The striking video concludes with Israeli media clips showing the evacuation of the wounded commander and other officers to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.
