Yemeni Forces Strike Riyadh Airport, Saudi Troop Positions

The spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced that King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, was targeted with a ballistic missile. He further stated that a separate operation was carried out against Saudi troop concentrations in the Ras al-Ara and al-Mudharaba areas using three ballistic missiles, confirming that the strikes were precise and hit their intended targets.

Saree stated that the Yemeni Armed Forces, “by the grace and aid of God,” were able to strike the airport. He noted that the operation targeting the forces in Ras al-Ara and al-Mudharaba resulted in a large number of casualties both killed and wounded as well as the destruction of several military vehicles.

He added that, over the past 24 hours, the Saudi air force had launched 42 airstrikes and missile attacks targeting civilian sites in the capital, Sana’a, as well as the governorates of Taiz, Lahj, Marib, and Amran, and the island of Mayun.

He explained that the airstrikes were carried out by F-15 and Typhoon aircraft, which took off from the Khamis Mushait and Taif airbases, while the missile strikes were launched from Najran. This brings the total number of Saudi airstrikes and missile attacks since the escalation in Yemen began to 2,323.

Saree emphasized that the Saudi aerial and missile bombardment of Mayun Island poses a direct threat to maritime shipping lanes. He held Saudi Arabia responsible for any consequences arising from these actions, as well as any resulting threats to the safety of maritime navigation.
