Six Hezbollah drones reached its targets in the Israeli Military Intelligence headquarters in Glilot near Tel Aviv, Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar reported on Friday, citing reliable sources in occupied Palestine.
The sources said that the drones were programmed to hit its targets in the huge Israeli complex, adding that Israeli occupation forces cordoned off the scene of the attack.
The Israeli occupation forces prevented civilians, journalists and even military personnel from reaching the scene of the attack, the sources said, adding that the enclosed area was of a 4-km radius.
Hezbollah staged last Sunday (August 25) Operation Arbaeen Day, in which hundreds of rockets and a number of drones were launched at several targets across occupied Palestine including Mossad HQ in Glilot. The reprisal strike was in retaliation for the Israeli assassination of senior Hezbollah commander Fuad Shokr in Beirut’s southern suburb (Dahiyeh) on July 30.
Meanwhile, debate continues within the Israeli government with regard to dealing with Lebanon front.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Office announced late Thursday that expanding the war objectives on the northern front (Lebanon) is “axiomatic” and that Netanyahu “has confirmed this several times.”
The comments by Netanyahu’s Office were in response to remarks made by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant who said earlier on Thursday that “Israel must expand its stated goals in the ongoing war to include returning Israelis to their homes in the north” after they were evacuated amid Hezbollah attacks.
In this context, Hebrew media quoted Israeli Education Minister Yoav Kisch as saying to officials on northern occupied Palestine that the occupation government is mulling new options to deal with Hezbollah, indicating that next September will be the decisive month in this regard.
