Hezbollah congratulated Hamas Palestinian resistance group on naming Yahya Sinwar as the leader of the movement’s politburo, stressing that the move is a powerful message to the Israeli enemy and its backer, the US.
Hezbollah’s Media Relations Office issued a statement late Tuesday that read: “Hezbollah extends congratulations and blessings to the dear brother, Mujahid Hajj Yahya Sinwar, and his brothers in the leadership of Hamas movement and all the Mujahideen of the Al-Qassam Brigades for his unanimous selection and election as the head of the political Hamas politburo, succeeding the martyr leader Ismail Haniyeh, may Allah have mercy on him. We pray to Allah, the Almighty, to grant victory and liberation through his hands and the hands of his fellow resistance fighters.”
The Lebanese resistance group said the selection of Sinwar “who is now in the heart of the besieged Gaza, along with his fellow Mujahideen in the frontlines of the Resistance, and among people who are under the rubble and have been suffering from the siege, killing and starvation, proves the Zionist enemy’s goals of killing leaders and officials have failed to achieve their intended outcomes.”
“The banner is passed from hand to hand, stained with the blood of martyrs. This is a strong message to the Zionist enemy and its backers, the United States along with its allies, that Hamas movement is united in its decision, firm in its principles, steadfast in its major choices, and determined, along with all Palestinian factions, to continue the path of resistance and jihad, regardless of the sacrifices,” the statement added.
Hezbollah reiterated, meanwhile that the Axis of Resistance “has been engaged in a heroic and historic battle on several fronts at a sensitive time in the region, in support of the oppressed people of Palestine.”
The election of Sinwar at this critical time and in the midst of the battle “increases our nation’s determination to unify efforts to continue the path of Jihad and resistance until the full liberation,” the statement read.
