The Lebanese caretaker information minister Ziad Makary hosted on Thursday at the ministry the representatives of the TV channels in Lebanon in order to discuss the repercussions of Akl-Jadeed offense to the Southern women.
After the meeting, Makary told the reporters that the conferees reject the offense, without mentioning any condemnation in this regard, and call for resorting to the legal procedures to defend rights and dignities.
Al-Manar representative, Mohammad Sherri, expressed reservation about Makary’s remarks, stressing that the offense, not the spontaneous reactions, must be condemned.
Last week, Al-Jadeed Channel broadcast a sarcastic program that included a sketch on southern women that was seen as a clear offense to this spectrum of the Lebanese society.
