Takfiri militants described the liberation of Syria’s second largest city, Aleppo, as a “great loss” for the terrorists fighting the Syrian government.
Nour al-Din al-Zenki terrorist group considered the return of Aleppo to full government control a “difficult turning point.”
“On the political level, this is a great loss,” member of the group’s politburo Yasser al-Youssef said, adding: “it marks a period of retreat and a difficult turning point.”
He noted meanwhile, that the support offered by Iranian and Russian military advisors to Syrian army forces in the campaign to retake Aleppo cost Takfiri militants dearly.
For its part, the so-called Ahrar al-Sham Takfiri group also fumed over the army’s recapture of Syria’s second largest city.
The militants have lost political and military momentum after the recapture of Aleppo, the terrorist group said.
