Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said on Saturday that excuses which led to the sabotage of forensic audit of Lebanon’s Central Bank (Banque du Liban)are unacceptable.
In remarks carried by Al-Manar, Sheikh Qassem stressed importance of the forensic audit, noting that “going ahead with ambiguity over the situation of the central bank will lead for more collapse.”
“Forensic audit of BDL must be priority and trading blame doesn’t sit straight.”
In this regard, Sheikh Qassem said that the government, judiciary and Parliament should follow up on this forensic audit issue.
Earlier on Friday, caretaker Finance Minister Ghazi Wazni said that restructuring consultancy Alvarez & Marsal has pulled out of a forensic audit of BDL because it did not receive information required to carry out the task.
